Job Description
The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety across the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and components.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in machines, panels, motors, and production equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
- Troubleshoot PLCs, control systems, and automation equipment (if applicable).
- Respond promptly to electrical emergencies to minimize operational disruptions.
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Recommend improvements to enhance system reliability and performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
- OND/HND/B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in electrical maintenance (industrial or manufacturing preferred).
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, motors, and control panels.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical manuals.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under minimal supervision.
