Key Responsibilities




  • Ensure full compliance with CBN regulations, NDIC guidelines, and other regulatory requirements applicable to Microfinance Banks.

  • Develop, implement, and review compliance policies and procedures.

  • Monitor and report on regulatory compliance risks and breaches.

  • Liaise with regulators and ensure timely submission of statutory returns.

  • Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments.

  • Provide compliance advisory support to management and staff.

  • Ensure staff adherence to internal policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

  • Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual compliance reports.



Experience: 




  • Candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years post-graduation experience in:

  • Compliance and regulatory functions within a Microfinance Bank.

  • Regulatory reporting and statutory returns.

  • Risk management and internal control processes.

  • Interfacing with regulatory bodies such as CBN and NDIC.



Qualifications




  • BSc in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Law, Economics, or related field with at least a Second class lower (2.2) or HND with a postgraduate degree from a recognised university.

  • Must be a CBN-approved Compliance Officer.

  • Relevant professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or Compliance-related certification) is an added advantage.



Skills/Knowledge 




  • Strong knowledge of Microfinance Bank regulations and compliance requirements.

  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.

  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good understanding of risk management and internal controls.
