Job Summary
- We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and professional Front Desk Officer to manage reception duties in a hospital environment. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring smooth front desk operations while maintaining confidentiality, accuracy, and excellent patient service.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and register patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Answer and route phone calls, inquiries, and emergencies appropriately
- Maintain accurate patient records and update hospital management systems
- Verify patient information and direct patients to relevant departments
- Handle billing inquiries, basic documentation, and insurance forms where applicable
- Ensure compliance with patient confidentiality and hospital policies (HIPAA or equivalent)
- Coordinate with nurses, doctors, and other departments to support patient flow
- Maintain a clean, organized, and calm reception area
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of OND/HND/Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field
- Previous experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare facility is an advantage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hospital information systems
- Calm, empathetic, and professional under pressure
