Position Summary
- Qualified applicants will play a crucial role in shaping the future of nursing by developing and implementing educational programs for aspiring nurses. They are responsible for creating curriculum, conducting lectures, and providing hands-on training to students. Nurse Educators also assess the progress of their students and provide guidance and support where necessary.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate students’ learning and contribute to curriculum development.
- Coordinate classroom and laboratory activities, evaluate student learning and maintain academic records and attendance.
- Develop scholarly pedagogic outputs such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts.
- Promote collegiality within the academic community by serving on committees, participating in faculty and staff meetings and departmental activities.
- Stay current in the academic discipline through professional development opportunities.
- Be available for academic support outside of the classroom.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Qualifications/ Experience
Applicants MUST:
- Possess a good first degree in Nursing Science (BNSc).
- Master’s degree in nursing or in Nursing Education is an added advantage.
- Must possess a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) or Nurse Educator certification.
- Be registered and licensed to practice by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
- Minimum of 2 -4 years clinical and/or teaching experience.
- ICT skills (Microsoft Office, CBT, e-teaching tools).
- Be a committed Christian.
