Division: Marketing



Mission:




  • To develop and execute a comprehensive media strategy for MTN Nigeria's Above-the-Line (ATL) media portfolio, encompassing TV, Radio, Print, and Outdoor channels.

  • To provide expert media direction for all ATL advertising initiatives, ensuring seamless alignment with business objectives, policies, and brand guidelines.



Description:




  • Develop a work implementation plan, ensuring it is in alignment with the media strategy and plan of the segment.

  • Prioritize tasks and deliver on all assignments within set timelines

  • Maintain and build brand strength through advertising, media, and any other marketing means, managing relationships with key media agencies/partners daily.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive annual media strategy aligned with MTN's business objectives.

  • Design and execute media strategies for various MTN business functions, coordinating implementation and monitoring progress.

  • Actively guide and influence the development of brand communication plans.

  • Optimally manage media budgets to ensure the actualization of the best value for money, and mitigate against hike in media rates due to inflation. 

  • Ensure effective and efficient media planning and deployment to drive impact that will grossly support in the achievement of Revenue target, both for short and long term.

  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless media campaign execution and business objective achievement.

  • Take appropriate measures to ensure business policies and processes are strictly adhere to within the governance framework to minimize exposure and risk.

  • Lead media negotiations in collaboration with our media agency to freeze rates, acquire more discounts and mitigate against inflation.

  • Provide training, coaching, and guidance to team members to enhance their skills and optimize work output.

  • Guide teams and stakeholders on media briefing to ensure proper briefing best practices to ensure effective delivery on business and campaign objectives. 

  • Ensure team members and agencies leverage media planning tools (e.g., MPS, AMPS, Diaries, Digital Media tools) to optimize media planning and buying.

  • Manage MTN's business relationships with the media agency, ensuring effective collaboration and partnership.



Education:




  • First degree in any related field

  • An MBA is desirable



Experience:



6 - 13 years’ experience which includes:




  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Marketing and Media discipline

  • Experience in coordination and process improvement 

  • Customer support and understanding of the consumer segment

  • Experience in Telecommunications Industry

  • Familiar with Microsoft tools, inclusive of Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Word, and Adobe.
