Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunology, serology, and transfusion services.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain analytical instruments and laboratory equipment.
- Validate test results and ensure precision, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Collect, label, and process biological specimens following proper identification and handling protocols.
- Ensure samples are stored and transported under optimal conditions to maintain integrity.
- Conduct daily quality control checks on instruments and reagents.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with patient data protection regulations.
- Follow established biosafety and infection control practices.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials safely and responsibly.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laboratory and health regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient care.
- Engage in continuing education to stay current with advances in laboratory science and technology.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with laboratory equipment and information systems.
- Excellent attention to detail
