Job Summary




  • TAG Lines Oil & Gas Services, a leading integrated service company in Nigeria's upstream oil and gas sector, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter for one of our clients at Agbami FPSO.

  • This is a critical role responsible for overseeing and ensuring the efficient and safe execution of all maintenance operations across our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities




  • Perform installation, maintenance, overhaul, and repair of mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, compressors, gearboxes, and piping systems.

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities as scheduled or instructed by the Maintenance Foreman.

  • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical faults and equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.

  • Dismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble mechanical components in accordance with OEM manuals and procedures.

  • Conduct alignment, fitting, and replacement of bearings, seals, gaskets, and other mechanical components.

  • Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, and lifting devices.

  • Comply strictly with HSE requirements, including permit-to-work systems, toolbox talks, and job safety analyses (JSA).

  • Maintain good housekeeping in work areas at all times.



General Requirements




  • Minimum of 5-7 years of proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in the Oil & Gas industry.

  • Demonstrated expertise in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment such as pumps, valves, compressors, and gearboxes.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and OEM manuals.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles and best practices in fitting and assembly.

  • Experience with various diagnostic tools and techniques for fault finding.

  • Ability to perform precision fitting and alignment of components.

  • Knowledge of HSE regulations and safe work practices in an industrial environment.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging environments.
