Job Summary




  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Biomedical Engineer (30–35years) to lead and support technical operations at SixthLab Medical Nigeria Ltd.

  • The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on expertise, mature judgement, and leadership capability in the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of medical and laboratory equipment.

  • The role requires someone who can work independently on complex tasks, supervise junior engineers, interface confidently with hospital management, and support the sales and operations teams in delivering high standards of technical service, client satisfaction, and compliance with regulatory and OEM requirements.



Key Responsibilities

E
quipment Installation & Maintenance:




  • Lead the installation, testing, configuration, and commissioning of medical and diagnostic equipment.

  • Perform and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance on various biomedical and laboratory devices.

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and repair aligned with OEM standards.

  • Ensure accurate documentation of service logs, calibration certificates, and maintenance reports.

  • Uphold compliance with equipment safety standards, regulatory guidelines, and industry best practices.



Technical Support, Supervision & Client Training:




  • Provide expert-level technical support to clients on-site and remotely.

  • Train healthcare professionals, technicians, and client staff on equipment handling and preventive care.

  • Supervise and mentor junior biomedical engineers and interns.

  • Support the sales team with technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution-based selling.

  • Participate in OEM and advanced technical training; transfer knowledge to the team.



Quality Assurance & Compliance:




  • Conduct performance verification tests and quality checks on serviced and newly installed equipment.

  • Support compliance documentation including service certifications, technical reports, and audit submissions.

  • Ensure alignment with regulatory frameworks (SON, PCN, NAFDAC where applicable).

  • Maintain awareness of technological trends, new product lines, and industry innovations.



Inventory & Asset Management:




  • Oversee tools, spare parts, calibration tools, and consumable inventory.

  • Raise requisitions for required spares and coordinate with procurement.

  • Ensure proper tracking, storage, dispatching, and receiving of equipment and accessories.



Client Relations & After-Sales Service:




  • Respond promptly to client service requests with a customer-first approach.

  • Provide follow-up services to strengthen client satisfaction and retention.

  • Represent SixthLab professionally during installations, maintenance visits, and audits.



Qualifications & Experience




  • B.Sc / HND in Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5–7 years strong practical experience in biomedical equipment installation, calibration, and maintenance.

  • Proven experience supervising junior technicians/engineers.

  • Strong hands-on proficiency with a wide range of medical and laboratory equipment.

  • OEM training, professional certifications, or advanced OEM-level experience is a strong advantage.

  • Previous experience in a medical equipment company, diagnostic centre, or hospital biomedical department is preferred.
