  • Procurement officers are an important part of the supply chain of an organization.

  • They communicate with vendors and order high-quality products and materials for the business while ensuring that purchases meet quality, cost, and timeliness requirements



Key Responsibilities




  • Overseeing and supervising all activities of the purchasing department.

  • Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.

  • Following and enforcing the company's procurement policies and procedures.

  • Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving items and services to be purchased.

  • Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.

  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as delivery times, product ranges, etc.

  • Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.

  • Researching and evaluating prospective market and suppliers.

  • Preparing budgets, cost analyses and reports.



Qualification and Required Skills




  • HND or OND in Accounting, business management or a related field with 2 – 4 years of working experience.

  • 2+ years of experience as a procurement officer or in a similar role.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Good analytical and strategic thinking skills.

  • Supervisory and management experience.

  • Strong attention to detail.
