Job Summary




  • We are seeking an Operations Manager for our AJUWON-AKUTE Branch.

  • The Operations Manager will play a critical role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations across the branch, supporting the achievement of the organization’s predefined goals.



Roles




  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the supermarket to ensure smooth, efficient, and profitable performance.

  • Coordinate all departments (sales floor, inventory, cash office, warehouse, security, and bakery) to ensure seamless operations.

  • Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained across the store.

  • Monitor stock availability, stock rotation, shrinkage control, and loss prevention activities.

  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and operational standards at all times.

  • Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate staff performance, including disciplinary actions when necessary.

  • Manage opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and daily sales reconciliation.

  • Implement operational improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve productivity.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements within the supermarket.

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports to management.



Requirements




  • Minimum qualification of HND / BSc in any relevant discipline.

  • Applicant must live within close proximity to the Branch

  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager or in a senior supervisory role within a supermarket or retail environment.

  • Strong leadership, people-management, and decision-making skills.

  • Good understanding of supermarket operations, inventory control, and customer service management.

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple operational tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic financial and reporting skills, including sales tracking and cost control.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant retail management software.
