Job Description
- The Project Cost Control Manager will oversee all financial, budgeting, and cost‑control activities for a major industrial construction project focused on gas extraction infrastructure.
The position we are offering involves the following main responsibilities:
PROJECT COST MANAGEMENT & CONTROL :
- develop, implement, and maintain project cost control systems, procedures, and tools ;
- establish and manage project budgets, cost baselines, and financial forecasts ;
- track and analyze project expenditures, commitments, and variances to ensure financial alignment with approved budgets ;
- prepare regular cost control reports, dashboards, cash flow projections, and cost‑to‑complete assessments ;
- perform cost risk identification and propose corrective actions to maintain project financial health.
PROJECT PLANNING & MONITORING :
- support the development of project schedules and planning deliverables in coordination with the planning team ;
- monitor progress versus baseline and evaluate cost impacts of schedule deviations ;
- participate in weekly and monthly progress reviews with project management and site teams ;
- ensure timely reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, cost efficiency, and resource utilization.
PROCUREMENT & CONTRACT SUPPORT :
- collaborate with procurement teams to track purchase orders, supplier contracts, and material delivery schedules ;
- analyze vendor quotations, compare budgeted vs. actual costs, and support cost‑effective procurement decisions ;
- assist in reviewing contract variations, claims, and change orders ;
- maintain full cost transparency for all subcontracted and purchased services.
COORDINATION & INTERFACE MANAGEMENT :
- Work closely with engineering, construction, planning, QS, and finance teams to collect, validate, and consolidate financial data ;
- Ensure alignment between design decisions, procurement strategies, and cost implications ;
- Support resolution of site‑related issues affecting cost, material usage, or resource allocation.
COMPLIANCE & DOCUMENTATION :
- ensure adherence to internal financial governance, reporting standards, and project control processes ;
- maintain complete and accurate documentation of budgets, financial adjustments, procurement links, and cost tracking spreadsheets ;
- support audits and senior management reviews.
Profile Wanted
- You have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- The role is based on a remote yard in Nigeria and requires a strong background in cost control, project monitoring, procurement coordination, and financial oversight of large‑scale engineering and construction projects.
- The ideal candidate has extensive experience working on complex industrial or infrastructure projects, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a challenging environment.
- You have at least 7 years of experience in cost control, planning, project coordination, QS, or contract management within large Oil&Gas or industrial construction projects. Strong experience with major industrial or energy‑sector projects (oil & gas, gas processing, petrochemicals, power plants, heavy infrastructure).
- You have emonstrated ability to manage cost control activities on multi‑year, high‑budget construction projects. Also, you are effective communicator with the ability to work in multinational and multicultural environments.
- You have an excellent analytical, numerical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience in remote site assignments is an asset.

- Advanced proficiency with MS Project, Primavera P6, SAP, MS Office (Excel, Power BI is a plus).
