Job Summary
- The Cook will be responsible for preparing quality meals in accordance with the restaurant’s menu and standards, ensuring proper food handling, hygiene, and timely meal service.
Key Responsibilities
- Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to approved recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
- Food Quality and Presentation: Ensure all meals are well-presented, tasty, and served at the correct temperature.
- Kitchen Hygiene and Safety: Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment in line with food safety and health regulations.
- Ingredient Handling and Storage: Properly store food items, monitor freshness, and prevent spoilage or wastage.
- Stock Control Support: Assist with inventory checks and report low stock levels to ensure uninterrupted kitchen operations.
- Equipment Usage and Care: Use kitchen equipment safely and ensure tools and appliances are properly cleaned and maintained.
- Time Management: Ensure meals are prepared and served promptly, especially during peak service periods.
- Compliance with Standards: Follow kitchen procedures, hygiene standards, and company policies at all times.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff and service teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 1–3 years experience as a Cook or similar role.
- Basic knowledge of local and continental dishes is an advantage.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long hours.
