Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced import/export documentation officer to join our team.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all necessary import and export documents are prepared accurately and in a timely manner, in compliance with local and international laws and regulations.
- The role will involve liaising with various stakeholders, including shipping companies, customs brokers, government agencies, and internal departments, to ensure smooth and efficient import and export operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process import and export documents, including invoices, bills of lading, customs declarations, packing lists, and certificates of origin, in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all import and export activities, including shipment details, documentation, and compliance with regulations.
- Monitor and report on changes in import and export regulations and policies that may affect the company's operations.
- Ensure that all documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed, and that all deadlines and requirements are met.
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to documentation or shipments, working with relevant stakeholders to ensure a satisfactory resolution.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in import/export documentation and logistics, preferably in a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, including customs procedures, tariffs, and licensing requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as Microsoft Office and logistics management systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential. Additional language skills would be an advantage.
