Job Overview




  • The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of solar boxes and related electronic components.

  • The role requires strong expertise in electronics engineering, hands-on technical skills, and the ability to support field and technical teams in resolving complex faults.

  • The technician will ensure all repaired units meet quality, safety, and performance standards before deployment.



Key Responsibilities

Technical & Repair Duties:




  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faulty solar boxes and associated electronic components.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on solar systems and lab equipment.

  • Conduct functional testing, validation, and quality checks on repaired units.

  • Identify root causes of failures and recommend corrective actions.

  • Replace, rework, or refurbish defective components in line with repair standards.



Laboratory Operations:




  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.

  • Properly use and maintain diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and soldering devices.

  • Document repair activities, test results, and fault reports accurately.

  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and technical standards.



Technical Support & Collaboration:




  • Provide technical support to field technicians and the wider technical team.

  • Assist in resolving escalated technical issues from operations or customer support teams.

  • Share technical knowledge and best practices with team members.

  • Support training of junior technicians when required.

  • Track repaired units, spare parts usage, and failure trends.

  • Escalate recurring or critical faults to management with clear technical analysis.



Qualifications & Experience




  • OND / HND / B.Sc. in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 1-3 years of work experience.

  • Proven experience in electronics repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

  • Experience working with solar systems, power electronics, or embedded systems is an added advantage.
