We are seeking an experienced Import Logistics Officer to join its Import Logistics Department.
The role involves managing import shipments from documentation to final delivery, coordinating with banks, Customs, shipping lines, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective clearance of goods.
Key Responsibilities
Manage import shipments from Proforma Invoice stage to final delivery
Process and follow up on Form M, L/C, PAAR, Marine Insurance, SONCAP, and NAFDAC documentation
Liaise with banks, Customs, shipping lines, terminals, and transporters to ensure smooth clearing
Track shipments and plan clearing activities ahead of vessel arrival
Prepare clearing cost estimates and coordinate payments
Provide daily updates and weekly import status reports to clients and management
Coordinate cargo discharge, delivery, and return of empty containers
Ensure proper filing of all shipment documentation
Follow up on clearing invoices and outstanding client payments
Stay updated on import regulations and procedures.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Import Logistics
Strong knowledge of Nigeria import and clearing processes
Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables)
Strong email writing and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Ability to work remotely via smartphone when required
Good command of the English language and strong teamwork skills.
Working Hours:
Monday – Friday: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
Alternate Saturdays for shipment planning and backlog clearing.
