Key Roles & Responsibilities




  • Act as the single point of contact for the project for weight estimation and Weight Control across Concept, FEED, Detailed Design & Execute phases of the project

  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating the weight and COG database and issuing weight reports throughout the project duration.

  • Responsible for defining Not to Exceed (NTE) weight philosophy and ensure alignment with engineering assumptions and defining COG envelope for each module (Weight Budget), duly considering the limitations on crane lifting capacity, vessel stability, and structural capacity.

  • Responsible for collecting, reviewing, verifying, and validating the weight and COG data from all the disciplines, checking to ensure all items are identified and reported including the future requirements

  • Responsible for reviewing and providing assurance to weight data, reports and deliverables received from vendors and sub-contractors for its compliance with procedure, specifications, and project requirements.

  • Perform weight evaluation and studies as may be required to support the project

  • Create awareness among engineering disciplines, about the impact of growth in topsides weight, contractual obligations on weight limits for topsides modules, initiate and drive weight reduction programs,

  • Support ITT development, contracting and tendering processes for the project Support ITT development, contracting and tendering processes for the project.



Required Experience




  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Structural or Marine Engineering.

  • 5+ years in offshore weight control, with specific experience in Greenfield and Brownfield developments. Proven experience with offshore engineering construction &installation works for offshore oil & gas, wind energy, or marine projects.

  • Expertise in ISO 19901-5, API RP 2A, and classification society rules (e.g., Lloyds, ABS, DNV).

  • Proven experience with offshore engineering construction &installation works for offshore oil & gas, wind energy, or marine projects.

  • Broad knowledge of different offshore systems

  • Skilled in Excel, Aveva E3D/PDMS, AutoCAD. Proficiency with specialized tools like ShipWeight or LoadmaX, and data analytical tools & visualizers will be an advantage.
