Job Summary
- The Shift Filling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the filling operations of lube oils, greases, and coolants in a manufacturing plant.
- This role includes supervising the filling team, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining high-quality standards, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
- The Shift Filling Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring that filling operations are conducted smoothly and safely while meeting production targets and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Supervision:
- Oversee and manage the filling operations for lube oils, greases, and coolants, ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Supervise a team of filling operators and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Develop and implement shift schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels and coverage
Equipment Management:
- Monitor the performance of filling equipment, including pumps, fillers, and packaging machines, ensuring they are operating correctly and efficiently.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of filling equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs and upgrades as necessary.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that filling processes adhere to quality standards and specifications, including accurate measurements and proper packaging.
- Conduct regular quality checks and inspections on filled products to identify and address any defects or inconsistencies.
- Implement corrective actions and adjustments to resolve quality issues and improve product consistency.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure all filling operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Promote a culture of safety by conducting regular safety audits, risk assessments, and safety training sessions for the team.
- Address and report any safety incidents or environmental concerns promptly and take corrective actions as needed.
Process Optimization:
- Analyze filling processes and workflows to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
- Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and production metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
- Manage inventory levels of lube oils, greases, coolants, and packaging materials to ensure a continuous supply for filling operations.
- Coordinate with procurement and inventory management teams to address any supply chain issues and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of filling operations, including production volumes, equipment maintenance, and quality control data.
- Prepare and submit shift reports, highlighting production performance, issues encountered, and any other relevant information to management.
Team Development:
- Train new and existing team members on filling operations, safety protocols, and best practices.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to support their development and improve overall team performance.
Customer and Quality Assurance Coordination:
- Collaborate with quality assurance and customer service teams to address any customer concerns or quality issues related to filling operations.
- Ensure that customer specifications and requirements are met consistently.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role overseeing filling operations for lube oils, greases, or coolants.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of filling processes, equipment, and quality control measures.
- In-depth understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze production data, identify issues, and implement solutions.
- Proficiency in production management software and tools.
