Job Summary
- The Automobile Finisher is responsible for carrying out final finishing processes on vehicles to ensure high-quality appearance, durability, and compliance with company standards before delivery or dispatch.
- The role involves surface preparation, polishing, detailing, minor corrections, and quality checks to achieve a flawless final product.
- The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in automotive finishing within a manufacturing or assembly environment.
Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation & Finishing:
- Perform sanding, buffing, polishing, and detailing of vehicle surfaces.
- Remove minor paint defects, scratches, and surface imperfections.
- Ensure smooth and high-quality finishing in line with company standards.
Quality Inspection & Correction:
- Inspect finished vehicles for defects or irregularities.
- Carry out touch-ups and minor corrective finishing where necessary.
- Ensure vehicles meet aesthetic and quality requirements before final approval.
Paint & Coating Support:
- Assist in applying protective coatings, wax, sealants, and finishing treatments.
- Ensure proper curing and drying procedures are followed.
Equipment & Tool Handling:
- Operate polishing machines, buffing tools, sanding equipment, and other finishing tools safely.
- Maintain tools and ensure proper storage after use.
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with HSE standards.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Report defects, rework cases, or quality issues to supervisors.
- Record finishing tasks and completed vehicles as required.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualification:
- SSCE / OND or technical certification in Automobile Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
- Vocational training in auto finishing or paint technology is an added advantage.
Experience:
- 3 - 7 years experience as an Automobile Finisher, Detailed, or Paint Finishing Technician in an automobile manufacturing or assembly plant.
- Practical experience in polishing, paint correction, and surface finishing.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of automotive paint systems and finishing techniques.
- Skilled in the use of polishing and finishing equipment.
- Ability to detect surface defects and perform corrective finishing.
- Understanding of quality control standards in automotive production.
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Team-oriented and safety-conscious.
- Physically fit to handle workshop tasks.
