Job Description
- We are looking for a thorough Assistant Maintenance Technician who will take responsibility for completing work orders and other required tasks to upkeep the premises' good condition and functionality.
- The maintenance assistant will assist the maintenance officer in ensuring efficient and effective management of the TENAUI AFRICA LIMITED facilities and assets, including generators, water systems, electrical, furniture, and plumbing fittings or systems.
Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Monitor fueling of generators at all TENAUI AFRICA LIMITED facilities in Lagos and ensure records of fuel consumptions are documented accurately on generators log sheets.
- Track Generator service schedules across TENAUI AFRICA LIMITED facilities in Lagos.
- Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels, etc.).
- Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration, and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary.
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
- Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed.
- Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows, etc.)
- Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide
- Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry, etc.).
- Assist in budget preparation and ensure it is followed.
- Use hand or power tools to disconnect, connect or adjust tubing, wiring, and other parts as needed.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician.
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems.
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of basic maintenance functions, including snow removal, basic electricity, and painting.
- Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
- Ability to lift to 60 pounds without assistance.
Preferred:
- Prior experience working in general maintenance, plumbing, and carpentry.
