Job Summary
- The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately while providing exceptional patient care and expert guidance on medication use.
- This position operates on a shift basis, ensuring continuous pharmacy coverage while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and service quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret, verify, and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal and professional standards.
- Assess patients medical history to identify potential drug interactions or contraindications.
- Counsel patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, dosage, and drug interactions.
- Offer professional health and wellness advice on over-the-counter (OTC) products and preventive care.
- Perform basic health checks like blood pressure monitoring or cholesterol testing, depending on local regulations and pharmacy services offered.
- Monitor stock levels and expiry dates, reporting supply needs or stock shortages proactively.
- Maintain controlled substances in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Contribute to sales growth through excellent service delivery and customer engagement
- Supervise, guide, and support pharmacy technicians and assistants during shifts.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
- Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organized, and compliant with safety and health standards.
- Stay current on new medications, treatment guidelines, and pharmacy laws.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm / Pharm.D) from an accredited institution.
- Valid and active pharmacist license issued by the relevant regulatory authority.
- 1–3 years of experience in a retail/community pharmacy setting preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of pharmaceuticals, therapeutic uses, and interactions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management and point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to work independently and handle long shifts effectively.
