Job Description
- They are currently recruiting for an excellent Chief Operating Officer with great years of experience to take charge of the business operations.
- Supervises: Logistics Manager, Lubes Production Manager, Engineering Lead, Supply Manager Terminal Operations Manager.
- Working Relationship: PPPMC, PPPRA, NIMASA, NUPRC NUPENG, PENGASSAN, NARTO, MOMAN, VENDORS, HAULERS.
Responsibilities
- Execute daily operations of the distribution system in a safe, efficient and incident-free manner for specific Areas.
- Drive processes, systems and metrics to ensure continuous education and improvement of environmental, safety and health performance across the Area.
- Provide leadership and build a strong team environment
- Ensure effective organizational capability with the function to carry out responsibilities of terminal operation and truck fleet operation.
- Supervise and assist field technicians and contractors as necessary to ensure prompt and timely customer delivery
- Enlist technical support from the engineering & maintenance team for overall project management as needed.
- Develop and maintain regular maintenance program across the business units Monitor the production chain to ensure daily optimal output
- Take direct participation in the determination and maintenance of product quality and operation.
- Monitor spending to make sure that expenses are consistent with the approved budgets.
- Drive cost reduction and efficiency increases by gaining greater capacity and time utilization of all assets and resources.
- Analyze expenditures and other financial information in order to develop plans, policies, and budgets for increasing profits and improving services
- Create and monitor a budget of revenue and expenses for each business unit
- Ensure capital and cost control accountability and responsibility within each operating element for all Logistic operations.
- Recommend and/or carry-out oversight of all Capital projects and major expense projects (recommend/approval depends on scope)
- Ensure that the Company’s strategic and local reserves are maintained at adequate levels at all times
- Develop risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios
- Participate actively in the planning process for future operations of the business
- Meet customer expectations through the delivery of products on time and on specification.
- Manage fleet operations for Owned and contracted vehicles and drivers including stock control, regulatory and maintenance issues.
- Direct distribution centre operation to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy, or timeliness objectives
- Assist in ensuring the Business Units has the optimal mix of proprietary supply chain assets with commercial arrangements consistent with Operational Excellence, Cost Reduction, Capital Stewardship and support of Profitable Growth of the organization SBU’s supported.
- Drive efficient service levels to provide a Superior level of customer satisfaction through all customer-facing activities.
- Work closely with partner businesses to ensure no opportunities to leverage one another are missed
- Work with Local Unions as applicable to ensure a collaborative working relationship. Engage with the community, ensuring that through stakeholder relations the business is promoted positively across the business location.
- Collaborate with key internal customers and business partners to ensure strategic alignment, optimal process interactions and consensus on support needs.
- Ensure all staff understand and follow policies and lead safety by example Ensure all operations are compliant with applicable codes and regulations
- Ensure standards and tools are executed consistently across the country.
Requirements
- Minimum of an MBA in Business Administration, Logistics and Supply Chain or any related discipline.
- Certification in Supply chain and Logistics will be an added advantage.
- At least 15 years experience in Logistics or Distribution or Supply function in an oïl and gas environment (must have spent at least five years in a management position)
- Has well-rounded experience in haulage management in the oïl and gas downstream
- Must have vast experience in government relations (especially DPR, NIMASA, PPPRA, PPPMC, NNPC, etc.
- Must have adequate experience in Managing labour relations (especially with NUPENG, PENGASSAN, etc.
- Periodic and regular meetings will be required
- Working hours might be extended on weekdays (with possible work extension on public holidays and weekends.
