Job Overview:
- The Senior Cloud Engineer (Azure) is a hands‑on Cloud Infrastructure expert responsible for architecting, deploying, optimizing, and securing enterprise‑scale cloud environments. The role requires deep technical capability across Azure IaaS/PaaS, hybrid cloud architectures, automation frameworks, identity and access management, and cloud security.
- The engineer will drive cloud modernization programs, lead cloud migration initiatives, enforce governance, and ensure operational excellence across mission‑critical workloads. Knowledge of AWS and GCP is a strong advantage, enabling multi‑cloud strategy, comparative analysis, and cross‑platform engineering.
Key responsibilities include:
Cloud Architecture & Solution Desi
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost‑optimized Azure cloud architectures.
- Develop High-Level Design/Low-Level Design (HLD/LLD), reference architectures, landing zones, and infrastructure blueprints for cloud and hybrid environments.
- Evaluate customer workloads and architect migration paths tAzure (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS).
- Integrate multi‑cloud considerations (AWS/GCP) where applicable.
Azure Infrastructure Engineering
- Develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, Bicep, Azure CLI, ARM templates, and Azure DevOps.
- Create CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment and configuration.
- Automate provisioning, patching, backups, failover, and compliance tasks.
- Drive a shift‑left approach for security, testing, and deployment.
Cloud Security & Identity
- Implement ZerTrust cloud security frameworks on Azure.
- Configure Conditional Access, Azure AD Identity Protection, MFA, PIM, and app registrations.
- Enforce cloud security policies, encryption standards, and threat protection (Defender for Cloud).
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, remediation planning, and cloud security hardening.
Cloud Migration & Modernization
- Lead end‑to‑end migration of servers, applications, databases, and files tAzure.
- Execute cloud assessments, discovery, dependency mapping, and wave planning.
- Modernize legacy workloads using PaaS (App Service, Functions, SQL MI, Containerization).
- Implement backup, DR, and business continuity strategies across hybrid and cloud environments.
Monitoring, Reliability & Operational Excellence
- Implement monitoring frameworks using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and Sentinel.
- Develop incident response playbooks, operational runbooks, and escalation procedures.
- Optimize performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across workloads.
- Provide Tier‑4 support for complex escalations across Azure and hybrid systems.
Multi-Cloud Engineering (AWS/GCP Advantage)
- Analyze and compare AWS and GCP equivalents for workload portability.
- Support multi‑cloud architecture initiatives where required.
- Leverage cross‑platform experience trecommend the best‑fit cloud platform per workload.
- Migrate across multiple cloud platforms
Leadership, Collaboration & Technical Enablement
- Lead cloud engineering workstreams across projects and customer engagements.
- Mentor cloud engineers and contribute tskill‑development programs.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, DevOps, and applications teams.
- Drive cloud adoption, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure migrations are secure, optimized, and aligned with business continuity requirements.
- Collaborate with internal leadership, customers, and cross‑functional teams tdrive successful project outcomes and technology adoption.
Required Experience & Expertise
- 5–10+ years in cloud engineering, architecture, or infrastructure engineering roles.
- Deep hands‑on experience with Azure IaaS, PaaS, networking, governance, and security.
- Strong automation skills using IaC (Terraform/Bicep/ARM) and scripting (PowerShell/Bash).
- Expertise with hybrid cloud environments, identity, and application modernization.
- Familiarity with AWS and/or GCP cloud ecosystems (advantage).
- Demonstrated experience executing large‑scale cloud migration and modernization projects.
Core Certifications (Preferred)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ‑104)
- Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate / Professional (Advantage)
- Google Professional Cloud Architect (Advantage)
