Job Description
About the role
- At Moniepoint, we're on a mission to create financial happiness across Africa. Our physical branches are the face of that mission.
- As a Branch Project Architect, you'll own the journey of turning architectural visions into real-world spaces.
- You'll work directly with our Lead Architect to coordinate stakeholders, manage technical documentation, and ensure our branch infrastructure is built to the highest standards.
- This isn't just about drawing plans; it's about making sure our physical presence is as reliable and innovative as our digital products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Documentation: Translate design briefs into coordinated technical drawings and construction details. You'll ensure every plan is ready for both site execution and planning approvals.
- Technical Coordination: Review working drawings and material specifications. You'll partner with structural, MEP, and specialist consultants to keep everyone aligned.
- Site Supervision: Conduct regular site visits across Nigeria. You'll lead site meetings with contractors and vendors, ensuring construction stays true to the design intent.
- Project Governance: Maintain high standards for documentation and version control. You'll track progress and provide honest, transparent reports to senior stakeholders.
- Contract Administration: Partner with our Quantity Surveyors and Procurement team to manage contracts, certify work packages, and advise on variations or valuations.
- Quality Control: Snag completed projects and supervise final touches to ensure our branches reflect the excellence our customers expect.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (B.Tech, B.Sc, M.Sc, or equivalent).
- 5–8 years of post-qualification experience in design and construction within Nigeria.
- Deep comfort on a construction site; you're at home in the middle of a build.
- Mastery of precision software: AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, SketchUp, or ArchiCAD.
- Ability to create photorealistic imagery using Lumion, V-Ray, Enscape, or similar engines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ARCON/NIA registration (completed or in progress).
- Experience with commercial or corporate projects, specifically involving facade systems and glazing.
- A solid grasp of project management basics: Scope, Time, Cost, and Quality.
About You
- You're an owner: You don't just wait for instructions; you see a problem and solve it. You treat every project as if it were your own.
- You're a master of your craft: You have the technical "grit" to handle Nigerian construction realities, but the creativity to think outside the box when challenges arise.
- You're honest and direct: You value facts over fluff. If a project is behind or a contractor is underperforming, you report it clearly and truthfully.
- You have a growth mindset: You're eager to learn, receptive to critique, and always looking for ways to build things better next time.
- You're professional and relatable: Whether you're talking to a site worker or a C-suite executive, you communicate with clarity, respect, and confidence.
