Job Summary
The Fleet Officer – Planning and Control is responsible for the day-to-day planning, tracking, and coordination of truck operations from loading to delivery, ensuring timely updates, compliance, and reporting across all touchpoints.
Job Details
Loading Operations
- Post fit-to-load trucks and coordinate truck allocation with the field team.
- Supervise loading activities and ensure accurate documentation.
- Manage truck delays and escalate as required.
Offloading Operations
- Coordinate with tracking and warehouse officers for updates.
- Communicate delays and escalate unresolved issues beyond a reasonable timeframe.
- Ensure delivery officer safety during offloading and relay any issues.
Driver Engagement
- Provide dispatch information, including product type, loading and offloading details.
- Handle communication breakdowns and escalate unresolved issues.
- Update records and escalate complex driver concerns to the lead.
Diesel Refilling
- Ensure diesel allocation is based on trip fuel requirement.
- Collaborate with ERP officers for verification and documentation.
- Escalate shortages or issues for timely resolution.
Accident and Recovery
- Escalate delays due to accidents, mechanical faults, or documentation issues.
- Provide situation reports and engage cross-functional departments as needed.
- Follow up with ERPo for case closure and ensure continued driver training.
Driver Incentive Computation
- Ensure timely and accurate incentive preparation using verified delivery reports.
- Generate and submit reports to the fleet lead for review and processing
Qualifications and Experience
Professional Requirements
- Certification in Fleet Management, Logistics, or Transport Operations will be an added advantage
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in fleet coordination, transport/logistics operations, or related role.
