Job Summary

• The Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in mathematics to students, developing their mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and analytical thinking.


• The teacher will create engaging lessons that make mathematics accessible and relevant, preparing students for academic success and real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging mathematics lessons aligned with the curriculum and educational standards


• Break down complex mathematical concepts into understandable steps


• Relate mathematical concepts to real-world applications and practical situations


• Prepare students for internal and external examinations (WAEC, NECO, JAMB, etc.)


• Develop students' computational skills, logical reasoning, and analytical thinking


• Foster problem-solving strategies and mathematical literacy


• Build students' confidence in their mathematical abilities


• Design and administer tests, quizzes, assignments, and examinations to assess student understanding


• Evaluate problem-solving processes, not just final answers


• Provide timely, constructive feedback showing where students went wrong and how to improve


• Recognize and address diverse mathematical abilities within the classroom


• Provide enrichment activities for advanced students


• Offer additional support and alternative explanations for struggling students

Qualification and Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field (minimum requirement)


• Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)

Certification:

• Professional registration with Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) or equivalent

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience at secondary/high school level


• Demonstrated success in preparing students for WAEC, NECO, and JAMB examinations


• Experience teaching mathematics at various levels (Junior and Senior Secondary)
