Job Summary
- The Procurement / Logistics Officer is responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices, preparing purchase orders, and coordinating the movement, delivery, and storage of goods.
- The role ensures timely procurement, cost efficiency, accurate documentation, and smooth logistics operations in compliance with company policies and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Duties:
- Source, evaluate, and select credible suppliers/vendors.
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure compliance with procurement procedures.
- Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and payment conditions.
- Track purchase requisitions and ensure timely delivery of requested items.
- Maintain vendor records, price lists, and procurement documentation.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain healthy supplier relationships.
Logistics Duties:
- Coordinate logistics for inbound and outbound movement of goods.
- Track deliveries and follow up with suppliers or transporters.
- Verify delivered items (quality, quantity, specifications) before acceptance.
- Liaise with stores/warehouse for proper receiving and documentation.
- Arrange proper transportation, dispatch, and distribution schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards during logistics operations.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate procurement and logistics records (POs, invoices, delivery notes).
- Prepare weekly and monthly procurement/logistics activity reports.
- Ensure document filing, transparency, and audit readiness.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- OND / HND / B.Sc. in: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics & Transport, Purchasing & Supply, Or related field
Experience:
- 3-5 years experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain roles.
- Experience working with vendors, transporters, and warehouse teams is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Knowledge of procurement procedures and inventory systems
- Good understanding of logistics and transportation operations
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP/inventory software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of accuracy, accountability, and integrity
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Good record‑keeping and reporting skills
