Job Summary




  • The Procurement / Logistics Officer is responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices, preparing purchase orders, and coordinating the movement, delivery, and storage of goods.

  • The role ensures timely procurement, cost efficiency, accurate documentation, and smooth logistics operations in compliance with company policies and operational standards.



Key Responsibilities

Procurement Duties:




  • Source, evaluate, and select credible suppliers/vendors.

  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure compliance with procurement procedures.

  • Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and payment conditions.

  • Track purchase requisitions and ensure timely delivery of requested items.

  • Maintain vendor records, price lists, and procurement documentation.

  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain healthy supplier relationships.



Logistics Duties:




  • Coordinate logistics for inbound and outbound movement of goods.

  • Track deliveries and follow up with suppliers or transporters.

  • Verify delivered items (quality, quantity, specifications) before acceptance.

  • Liaise with stores/warehouse for proper receiving and documentation.

  • Arrange proper transportation, dispatch, and distribution schedules.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards during logistics operations.



Documentation & Reporting:




  • Maintain accurate procurement and logistics records (POs, invoices, delivery notes).

  • Prepare weekly and monthly procurement/logistics activity reports.

  • Ensure document filing, transparency, and audit readiness.



Qualifications & Requirements

Education:




  • OND / HND / B.Sc. in: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics & Transport, Purchasing & Supply, Or related field



Experience:




  • 3-5 years experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain roles.

  • Experience working with vendors, transporters, and warehouse teams is an advantage.



Skills & Competencies:




  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills

  • Knowledge of procurement procedures and inventory systems

  • Good understanding of logistics and transportation operations

  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP/inventory software

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • High level of accuracy, accountability, and integrity

  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure

  • Good record‑keeping and reporting skills
