A reputable company in the Financial Sector is urgently seeking an International Sales Manager to drive market expansion and client acquisition for its cross-border payment solutions. The idea candidate will be primarily responsible for identifying and acquiring importer clients in the Nigerian market with cross-border payment needs. This is a high-value B2B business development role focused on building trust, understanding clients’ funding requirements, and fostering long-term relationships. It is not a retail or door-to-door sales position.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify, engage, and onboard import-focused clients in South Africa with cross-border payment requirements, particularly those trading with key markets such as China, UAE, India, Turkey, and Europe, and with annual transaction volumes of at least RMB 5 million.
- Promote and position the company’s integrated payment and foreign exchange solutions, including Naira-to-USD and Naira-to-RMB transactions, to prospective and existing clients.
- Support clients through the onboarding process by guiding them in opening and effectively utilizing local payment accounts.
- Conduct regular field activities including market visits, client meetings, and participation in industry association engagements to drive business development.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key ecosystem players such as customs clearing agents, freight forwarders, logistics providers, and relevant industry associations.
- Develop and sustain long-term client relationships by proactively managing accounts and continuously identifying evolving client needs.
- Provide timely market intelligence and customer insights to the Country Manager to support strategic decision-making.
- Focus on acquiring and managing corporate clients engaged in international trade, particularly within industries such as FMCG, electronics, auto parts, building materials, textiles, and machinery, with consistent cross-border payment and foreign exchange requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, with a minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience.
- Proven experience in B2B sales and business development is highly desirable. Prior experience in banking or cross-border financial services will be an added advantage.
- Self-driven, confident, and highly motivated individual with a strong results orientation. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, take initiative, and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and client relationship management skills, with a high level of customer service awareness.
- Possession of a personal vehicle is an added advantage.
