Role Overview

• The Cath Lab Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and other interventional cardiac procedures.


• The role involves patient preparation, intra-procedural monitoring, post-procedure care, and ensuring patient safety throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures and provide necessary education.


• Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.


• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures (vital signs, ECG, hemodynamic parameters).


• Provide post-procedure care including site assessment, bleeding control, and patient stabilization.


• Ensure Cath Lab equipment, medications, and sterile supplies are functional and compliant with standards.


• Maintain accurate patient documentation, procedure records, and incident reports.


• Adhere to infection control, safety procedures, and hospital policies.


• Collaborate with cardiologists, anesthetists, radiographers, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications & Experience

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid practicing license.


• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Cardiology, or Interventional Radiology unit.


• BLS and ACLS certifications.


• Strong knowledge of cardiac procedures, ECG monitoring, and hemodynamic monitoring.
