Job Summary
- Astracrest Investment Limited is seeking a skilled Legal Officer / Legal Counsel with expertise in real estate to manage legal matters related to property acquisitions, leases, land use, and regulatory compliance.
- The ideal candidate will provide practical legal guidance on property transactions, ensure adherence to Nigerian property laws, and protect the company’s legal interests in all real estate operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate property-related contracts, lease agreements, sale/purchase agreements, and tenancy agreements.
- Advise management on real estate transactions, property laws, and land use regulations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws affecting real estate and property development.
- Conduct due diligence for property acquisitions, leases, and partnerships.
- Resolve disputes, claims, or litigation related to property and tenancy matters.
- Maintain accurate records of all legal and property documents.
- Coordinate with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and external legal counsel when necessary.
- Provide risk assessment and mitigation advice for all real estate projects.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized university.
- Must be called to the Nigerian Bar (B.L).
- Additional qualifications or certification in real estate law, property management, or corporate law is an advantage.
Experience:
- Must have 3–5 years experience in corporate or real estate law.
- Hands-on experience in property transactions, land acquisition, leases, and regulatory compliance preferred.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian property, land, and real estate laws.
- Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail with strong organizational abilities.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills in real estate matters.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
