  • St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Midwife to join our maternal and child healthcare team.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, high-quality antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to mothers and newborns while ensuring adherence to professional standards and hospital policies.

  • The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong clinical competence, empathy, and a commitment to promoting maternal and newborn health.



Key Responsibilities




  • Provide comprehensive antenatal, labour, and postnatal care to expectant and new mothers.

  • Monitor the progress of labour and assist in safe delivery of babies.

  • Assess the health condition of both mother and newborn before, during, and after delivery.

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the attending physician.

  • Assist doctors during obstetric procedures when required.

  • Provide counselling and education to mothers on breastfeeding, newborn care, family planning, and maternal health.

  • Monitor and record vital signs and maintain accurate patient records.

  • Identify complications and promptly escalate to the appropriate medical personnel.

  • Maintain hygiene and infection prevention standards within the maternity unit.

  • Participate in ward rounds and maternity team meetings.

  • Support hospital initiatives aimed at improving maternal and child health outcomes.



Education & Professional Requirements




  • Registered Midwife (RM), BNSC / ND qualification from a recognized institution

  • Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council

  • Current practicing license.



Experience:




  • 2 - 6 years of experience in maternity care (preferred)

  • Experience working in a hospital maternity unit will be an added advantage.

  • Strong clinical knowledge in maternal and neonatal care

  • Excellent observation and monitoring skills

  • Compassionate and patient-centered care approach

  • Effective communication and counselling skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team

  • Strong ethical standards and professionalism.
