BACKGROUND: A fast-growing National Microfinance bank with presence in all 36 states of the country is in search of a new individual to join its brilliant team.

POSITION: Head, Information Technology Department– Report to Executive Director Operations & Information Technology Unit

QUALIFICATION: A first degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, and related disciplines (Computer Engineering, Computer with Economics/ Mathematics, Management Information Systems, and Electrical/Electronic Engineering and any other Engineering Courses is required. A post graduate degree in any related discipline is nice to have.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP: Any of NCS (Nigeria Computer Society), TOGAF, NIM, PMI or ISACA preferred.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: Any of ITIL; CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Oracle/Microsoft Database Administration, Cloud Computing, The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), Control Objectives for Information Technologies (COBIT), Cisco Network Administration, Java Framework, .NET Framework, Python, Angular, Docker

EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Management- Minimum of 15 years working experience in IT, of which at least 7 years should be at general IT management level.  Experience in leading/managing large IT team is required.

• Excellent knowledge and experience with IT procurement and vendor management


• Knowledge and experience of Enterprise and Solutions architecture


• Experience with managing large teams of IT professionals


• Good knowledge and familiarity with leading practices in security standards/frameworks  


• Good knowledge of database management systems   


• In-depth knowledge of Threat and Vulnerability Management, Penetration Testing, antivirus solutions and end point protection  


• Understanding of Client and server operating systems  


• Experience with managing and running applications in the Cloud (Azure and AWS)


• Ability to translate IT terminologies into what the business can understand


• Adequate knowledge Core Banking Applications such as Temenos T24 management   


• Adequate knowledge of eChannel Management and Payment Systems Applications – most importantly Mobile and Internet Banking applications


• Adequate knowledge of Contract management, Budget, and cost management and Quality control


• Knowledge of Banking Operation Models

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implementation of Depts mandate   

• Ensures the implementation of the Dept’s work plan.  

• Ensures timely rendition of Dept’s deliverables. 


• Manages the Dept performance.  

PERSONALITY: energetic, driven, adaptable, able to work with no supervision, team spirit, proven leadership and problem-solving skills, willingness to relocate. Should not be older than 50 years of age.
