About the Job



  • We seek to engage the services of a reliable Veterinarian to manage the Livestock Category and Internal team support on a full-time basis. 

  • This role is instrumental in providing market linkage support across internal and external players of the Afrimash order cycle. 

  • This involves providing professional support to the Sales Team/High-Value customers in the Livestock value chain category, providing related support to vendors and processing orders made via their online stores.


Responsibilities



  • Improve quality control and standardization of the Livestock Category with routine pre/post-sale inspections of Afrimash-affiliated livestock farms (including Poultry, fish, ruminants and porcine)

  • Create a process for expanding product and category offers into other livestock-related value chains to improve the section

  • Physical/virtual inspection of special orders and livestock before shipping to customers

  • Explore a deeper understanding of the Vendor and Order Life Cycles, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share in the Livestock sector.

  • Develop routine inspection and vaccination reports for the internal teams with vendors.

  • Provide timely responses to product-related inquiries (Pxp-level technical support) and comply with documentation directives.

  • Keen understanding of company policies and procedures associated with selling on the Afrimash marketplace.

  • Arrange meetings with staff and vendors for troubleshooting and gathering industrial intelligence.

  • Ensure pricing competitiveness, assortment, and the stock availability of key vendors in the Livestock category.

  • Ensure issue resolutions are achieved without compromising the relationship with vendors, company and customers

  • Liaise with marketing teams to determine competitive pricing offers, combos and promotional activities of a product category/section.

  • Collaborate with the team on monthly industry-level meetings/training (NVMA-VCN) for continuing education and develop monthly industry-specific newsletters for community engagement.

  • Make forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory.

  • Collaborate with the PXP teams for vendor sourcing, listing, product acquisition, submission, reviews and publishing.

  • Identify, coordinate, and participate in various Partner Experience activities; these may include field days, farmer meetings, demonstration trials, expositions, exhibitions, etc.

  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on products/offers/prices.

  • Recommend changes in products, services, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments


Qualifications



  • Doctor, Veterinary Medicine (DVM) with at least 3 years of field experience, especially in poultry and other livestock

  • Previous working experience in product sourcing, merchandising and vendor sourcing

  • Detailed knowledge of the agricultural value chain, especially the livestock value chain.

  • Solid knowledge of products and category management, marketing and sales principles.

  • Proficient use of the Internet, computer applications, web applications, and mobile applications.


Proficiency requirements:



  • Ability to provide prompt professional solutions to livestock-related challenges.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

  • Ability to analyze data and sales statistics and make appropriate inferences.

  • Good understanding of the agricultural peculiarities of the states in Nigeria, their geography, and

  • Ability to use good judgment in making timely business decisions while having the interest of the company at heart,

  • Ability to use creative thinking to promote customer/vendor satisfaction and company growth.
