Position Overview



The Auto Upholsterer is responsible for the fabrication, repair, and installation of vehicle upholstery in line with approved specifications and standards. This role involves consulting with clients or design representatives to determine requirements, selecting suitable materials, and delivering high-quality finishes. 



Responsibilities:




  • Remove old upholstery and inspect vehicle interiors for damage.

  • Collaborate with line manager to understand client's needs and provide updates on project progress.

  • Design and implement bespoke upholstery solutions that align with company specifications.

  • Select high-quality fabrics, leathers, and other materials for upholstery projects.

  • Prepare materials by cutting precise patterns and sewing sections together with precision.

  • Install new upholstery, ensuring a neat and professional finish.

  • Work closely with other team members, including engineers and designers, to ensure cohesive project execution.



Qualifications and Skills:




  • Minimum of SSCE, Trade Certification in Upholstery, Vocational Training, or a relevant field.

  • Relevant technical certification in auto upholstery or interior finishing will be an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 2–4 years’ hands-on experience in auto upholstery, interior refurbishment, or related work.

  • Ability to use upholstery tools and equipment effectively and interpret design specifications
