- The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications accurately, ensuring safe and effective pharmaceutical care, and providing professional guidance to patients on the proper use of medications.
- The role also involves inventory management, regulatory compliance, and supporting overall pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities
Medication Dispensing & Patient Care
- Accurately dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications.
- Review prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, and potential drug interactions.
- Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and storage.
Clinical & Professional Duties
- Monitor patient medication therapy and ensure optimal outcomes.
- Identify and resolve medication-related problems.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in line with professional standards.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Manage drug inventory, including ordering, stocking, and expiry monitoring.
- Ensure proper storage conditions for all pharmaceutical products.
- Minimize wastage and prevent stock outs of essential medications.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Maintain proper documentation and record-keeping (controlled drugs, prescriptions, etc.).
- Adhere to guidelines set by regulatory bodies (e.g., PCN).
Customer Service & Sales
- Deliver excellent customer service and build strong patient relationships.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
- Support sales targets through ethical product recommendations.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or Pharm .D).
- Valid practicing license with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a community or retail pharmacy
