JOB DESCRIPTION
A highly analytical and qualified financial officer who will be responsible for the financial health of the organization (NGO) by managing financial procedures, planning budgets, participating in audits, monitoring transactions, and preparing invoices. To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of financial policies, procedures, and systems. In addition to being an excellent communicator, our ideal candidate will also have outstanding analytical and time management abilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in budget preparation and management activities.
- Develop financial policies to ensure operational efficiency.
- Conduct periodic financial analysis to identify and resolve issues, gaps, or variances.
- Manage cash controls as well as maintain bookkeeping up to date.
- Ensure maintenance of the general and subsidiary ledgers.
- Track investments and maintain relevant cash reserves.
- Ensure all expenses are within assigned project budget.
- Oversee the preparation of all financial statements, invoices, proposals, etc as required.
- Ensure account receivables and payables activities are performed accurately and timely.
- Ensure that financial transactions are properly updated and recorded.
- Manage the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, expense reports, etc.
- Ensure data integrity in all financial reporting.
- Update financial records with recent transactions and changes.
- Perform finance analysis, reporting and management tasks.
- Identify and resolve invoicing issues, accounting discrepancies and other financial related issues.
- Review financial paperwork and procedures and make appropriate changes.
- Create and implement financial policies to guarantee operational efficiency.
- Oversee the preparation and planning of budgets.
- Maintain records and receipts for all daily transactions.
- Contribute to financial audits.
- Monitor all bank deposits and payments.
- Perform periodic financial analysis to detect and resolve problem
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or relevant field.
- A minimum of 3 -5 years experience in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes.
- Experience with working in a business department like in the treasury or in the accounting department.
- An MBA, or Master of Business Administration, is also an added advantage
- Must have Knowledge of software such as Quick books, Sage, MS Excel.
- Must posses certification courses in various financial and administrative disciplines such as ACCA
- Must pass background check which are rigorous (it includes providing 3Guarantors and 3Referees), and invasive. Therefore, candidates who are not able to meet up with the background check requirement should not bother applying.
Salary Range: N200 k – N450k
