Job Overview
- The Assistant Technical Officer, Covid-19 is expected to work closely with ACE2 project implementation staff and stakeholders to ensure increase in covid-19 vaccination uptake among PLWHIV in our supported facilities across the state.
- S/he will ensure activities that will improve infection, prevention and control are practiced at ART clinics among PLWHIV.
- The incumbent will also support Supply Chain Advisor in close monitoring of commodities to ensure transparency and accountability in utilization.
Work Interactions and Conditions:
- The Assistant Technical Officer Covid-19 will work closely with the HSS Advisor & Logistics team and with other GGHN program implementation teams based in the state.
- This job requires improving uptake of Covid-19 vaccination among PLHIV across supported facilities in the state. Additionally, the incumbent will work closely with supply chain team.
Responsibilities
- With support from the technical advisor HSS, provide knowledge translation and management to guide evidence informed decisions for strengthening activities that would improve uptake of covid-19 vaccine among PLHIV at the facility level.
- Making sure facility health education sessions for PLHIV include covid-19 transmission, vaccination and IPCs towards improving covid-19 uptake among PLHIV.
- Serve as the cluster POC for Covid-19 vaccination and other technical supports as may be recommended by the cluster lead.
- In collaboration with M&E and facility adhocs, follow up with daily performance data (DPT) collection and reporting regarding covid-19 vaccine among PLHIV.
- In collaboration with the logistics unit and facility Covid-19 team, monitor Covid-19 supply chain and stock levels at the facilities.
- Ensure appropriate IPC protocols are being observed at HIV clinic and support patients triage in ART clinic waiting areas.
- Support logistics and supply chain Advisor in ensuring close monitoring of all commodities supplied for ART clinic at pharmacy, Lab and store.
- Perform any other duties assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree / HND (preferably Sciences).
- Be aware of government guidelines and covid-19 related safety, hygiene and social distancing protocols and other infection prevention control protocols.
- Experience in capacity building on IPC, Immunization and knowledge management activities will be an added advantage.
- Skills: Strong communication skills both written and oral.
- Interpersonal/Individual Competencies: the ability to build and maintain relations with multiple stakeholders, strong work ethic, decisiveness, and personal integrity.
- Ability yo multitask and work under pressure.
