Key Responsibilities
The day-to-day functions of an Operations and Logistics Officer include both strategic planning and on-the-ground execution:
- Supply Chain Management: Planning and overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of goods, from the procurement of raw materials to final delivery.
- Inventory Control: Tracking stock levels, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring warehouses are organized and materials are appropriately stored.
- Transportation & Fleet Management: Coordinating with freight carriers, shipping companies, and truck partners to optimize delivery routes and minimize transport costs.
- Vendor Negotiation: Sourcing logistics partners, negotiating shipping rates, and tracking vendor performance against Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Compliance & Documentation: Preparing shipping documentation and ensuring operations comply with local and international trade and safety regulations.
