Summary

• The Revenue Assurance Analyst will be responsible for the analysis of financial data from various sources to identify areas of improvement in company revenue and margins.


• The Revenue Assurance Analyst will be required to identify instances of overpayments and underpayments and repair irregularities in the accounts.


• He or she will also ensure accuracy in financial reporting, detect errors on reports and streamline cashflow, payments and income to enable the company run more efficiently.

Job Description

• Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking.


• Analyze financial data and create financial models to aid business decision making


• Maintain in-depth understanding of industry trends relative to revenue assurance practices. Implement quality assurance for all processes impacting revenue.


• Continuously work to understand and mitigate losses to ensure the highest levels of revenue recognition.


• Work with department heads and executives to maximize company profits by analyzing revenue data, tracking expenses, and devising business strategies to stay abreast of emerging technologies.


• Perform regular reconciliation and analysis of revenue streams.


• Monitor collection processes for accuracy.


• Work with management to formulate policies and procedures to Identify and block leakage and fraud gaps.


• Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews.


• Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.


• Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.


• Perform data manipulation and analysis using tools such as Business Objects, SQL and MS-Access


• Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.


• Guide the cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures.


• Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization.


• Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; study proposed changes in methods and materials.


• Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools.


• Analyze data/reports to identify opportunities and areas for improvement


• Initiate business process changes that may affect the company’s ability to identify, monitor or collect revenue (e.g., new system implementations/upgrades, new product roll outs, etc.).

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field. Professional Qualification such as ICAN, ACCA is an added advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years proven work experience in a financial analyst/revenue assurance role (2 years must be in revenue assurance or billing and minimum of 3 years in a role where data analysis, data reconciliation and data presentation were required).

Skills and Competencies:

• Solid knowledge of fundamental accounting principles


• Project management and planning skills


• Ability to write advanced SQL and analyze large data sets


• Strong PC software application skills including spreadsheets, databases, word processing and presentation software


• Experience in developing business objects reports


• Analytical mind which is able to process information logically delivering value added analysis


• Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
