Job Description
- The Local Unit Analyst, under the direction of the Area Membership and Statistical Records (MSR) Manager, ensures that all aspects of local unit finances and record-keeping are managed and administered properly in a legal and professional manner.
Responsibilities
- Trains and provides advisory services to local unit leaders and clerks on finance and membership record-keeping policies, principles and tools
- Ensures that local unit record-keeping reports and finance transactions are accurately submitted on time and follow Church policies
- Identifies and analyzes local unit trends and provide reports to the Area Presidency, DTA, and other departments, that are useful in decision making when required
- Performs both on-site and off-site finance and membership audits and resolution processes
- Prepares and presents area and regional-specific statistical analysis, trend analysis, and other reports
- Assists local leaders to prepare unit organization applications
- Looks for opportunities to refine local unit financial and record-keeping processes
- Initiates and participates in business solutions or process improvement projects related to local unit needs
- Assists with the resolution of local unit items that the GSC is not able to resolve
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in, Business, Accounting, Finance, or other related discipline
- Minimum of six years professional work experience in accounting, auditing, finance or business management
- Higher degree and/or professional certification preferred (including ACCA, CPA, CIMA and/or MBA)
- Must be worthy of a temple recommend
- Excellent computer application and troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrates a significant and in-depth experience and understanding with Church governance, processes, policies and tools
- Working knowledge of LCR, Church networks and other programs
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent analytical, planning, and presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including fluency in English
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to train, influence, and motivate others
