Location: Sangotedo - Ajah, Lagos



Job Summary




  • The Account Assistant will support the Finance department in day-to-day accounting operations, including posting transactions, reconciling records, maintaining financial documentation, and assisting with reporting and audit preparation.

  • The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and a good working knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial software.



Job Description




  • Post daily financial transactions (receipts, payments, journal entries) into the accounting system.

  • Maintain and update journals, ledgers, cash books, and bank reconciliation statements.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.

  • Support invoice processing, vendor payments, and receivables tracking.

  • File and organize financial documents (invoices, receipts, vouchers) in an orderly and retrievable manner.

  • Assist with petty cash management and retirement of expenses.

  • Engage in stock taking and stock counts periodically.

  • Assist in preparation of schedules for audit exercises (receivables, payables, prepayments, accruals, etc.).

  • Reconcile supplier and customer statements.

  • Support inventory and stock valuation reconciliations where applicable.

  • Perform other administrative and accounting duties as assigned by the Finance Department.



Requirements



Qualifications:




  • B.Sc or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Basic knowledge of GAAP or other accounting standards.

  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Must live around Ajah or its Envrions.

  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
