Location: Sangotedo - Ajah, Lagos
Job Summary
- The Account Assistant will support the Finance department in day-to-day accounting operations, including posting transactions, reconciling records, maintaining financial documentation, and assisting with reporting and audit preparation.
- The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and a good working knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial software.
Job Description
- Post daily financial transactions (receipts, payments, journal entries) into the accounting system.
- Maintain and update journals, ledgers, cash books, and bank reconciliation statements.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Support invoice processing, vendor payments, and receivables tracking.
- File and organize financial documents (invoices, receipts, vouchers) in an orderly and retrievable manner.
- Assist with petty cash management and retirement of expenses.
- Engage in stock taking and stock counts periodically.
- Assist in preparation of schedules for audit exercises (receivables, payables, prepayments, accruals, etc.).
- Reconcile supplier and customer statements.
- Support inventory and stock valuation reconciliations where applicable.
- Perform other administrative and accounting duties as assigned by the Finance Department.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- B.Sc or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of GAAP or other accounting standards.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Must live around Ajah or its Envrions.
