Job Description
The Encapsulation Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining capsule filling machines to ensure efficient production of high-quality pharmaceutical products in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety standards, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate encapsulation machines (e.g., capsule filling machines) efficiently to meet production targets.
- Set up machines, including changeover, cleaning, and adjustment of machine parameters.
- Monitor machine performance and ensure proper functioning during production runs.
- Perform in-process checks such as capsule weight, appearance, and fill consistency.
- Ensure accurate documentation of batch records, logbooks, and production reports.
- Adhere strictly to GMP, SOPs, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NAFDAC guidelines).
- Carry out routine cleaning and maintenance of machines and work area.
- Identify and report machine faults, deviations, or quality issues promptly.
- Minimize product wastage and ensure optimal use of materials.
- Follow safety procedures and ensure a clean, hazard-free working environment.
- Assist in troubleshooting and minor repairs of encapsulation equipment.
- Participate in validation, qualification, and audit activities when required.
Requirements
- Minimum of SSCE /O’ Level / OND in Science or Engineering-related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, preferably in capsule production.
- Good knowledge of GMP and pharmaceutical production processes.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot encapsulation machines.
- Basic understanding of documentation and batch record handling.
- Strong attention to detail and quality consciousness.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
