Job Description

  • Our client is seeking a high-caliber, strategic, and growth-oriented General Manager to direct corporate operations, lead key asset acquisition initiatives, and drive long-term business performance across regional markets. The ideal candidate will bridge executive governance with hands-on operational execution—ensuring strict capital efficiency, risk mitigation, seamless portfolio management, and strategic market expansion.

  • This executive position offers a direct, performance-backed growth trajectory toward Chief Executive Officer (CEO) leadership and equity stakeholder ownership within the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Board Alignment:

  • Partner directly with the Executive Board and President to define, refine, and execute the company’s asset acquisition and growth strategy.

  • Translate top-level strategic objectives into actionable operational roadmaps, investment criteria, and team performance metrics.

  • Prepare comprehensive executive reports, financial valuations, and quarterly P&L analysis for board review.

Operational Excellence & Asset Management:

  • Direct day-to-day business unit operations to ensure optimal asset utilization, portfolio performance, and administrative efficiency.

  • Formulate, standardize, and enforce rigorous Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), due diligence protocols, and risk governance frameworks.

  • Oversee manpower planning, cross-functional team management, and talent performance optimization.

Financial Growth & Capital Allocation:

  • Drive portfolio revenue growth, capital deployment efficiency, and operational margin optimization in alignment with board mandates.

  • Oversee operational budgeting, cash flow forecasting, asset yield performance, and resource distribution.

  • Monitor operational KPIs and execute data-driven strategies to lower management overhead while maximizing return on capital.

Deal Origination & Stakeholder Relations:

  • Identify, evaluate, and capitalize on high-yielding asset acquisition opportunities across targeted regional markets.

  • Build and sustain relationships with key corporate clients, financial institutions, co-investors, and ecosystem partners.

  • Represent African Assets Acquisition at high-level corporate forums, investment summits, and strategic negotiations.

Requirements

Candidate Profile & Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Management, or related field; an MBA or relevant post-graduate degree is strongly preferred.

  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive corporate leadership experience, with at least 3–5 years in a General Manager, operations head, or asset management role.

  • Asset & Financial Acumen: Solid background in P&L management, budget control, deal structure analysis, and asset performance tracking.

  • Strategic Execution: Proven capability in managing complex business portfolios, negotiating transactions, and executing cross-border growth plans.

  • Leadership & Executive Presence: Exceptional communication, negotiation, team coaching, and board-level reporting capabilities.

  • Entrepreneurial Drive: Strong ambition to progress into a CEO position and build long-term value as an equity stakeholder.

Benefits

Compensation & Performance Structure:

  • Base Salary: N350,000 monthly

  • Target Achievement Bonus: Up to ₦500,000 monthly upon attaining defined financial, acquisition, and operational targets

  • Commission: Tiered performance commissions for deal origination, asset growth, and revenue surpassing target thresholds

  • Growth & Equity Pathway: Structured advancement pipeline to CEO and eligibility for equity stakeholder allocation based on sustained board-level milestones and organizational expansion
