Job Description



Job summary

Management and reporting of financial data of the organization. Prepare financial reports to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities and other related financial activities. Ensure compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures.


Responsibilities



  • Perform general accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.

  • Prepare periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements and profit and loss statements.

  • Maintain the general ledger.

  • Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts and close the monthly books.

  • Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify deposits and address inquiries from banks.

  • Reconcile customer accounts and manage accounts receivable collections.

  • Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.

  • Provide auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.

  • File required tax forms and other financial obligations.

  • Initiate and manage accounting software used by the organization and recommend updates to enhance the accounting software.

  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.


Required experience / qualifications



  • HND / BSc. In Finance, Accounting or any other related field (a post-graduate degree will be an advantage).

  • Member / fellow of a recognized accounting professional body i.e. ICAN, ACCA, etc. will be an advantage.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience.

  • Relevant experience in FMCG/Trading organizations.

  • Must have in-depth ERP experience.

  • The ideal candidate must be analytical, proactive and result-oriented. In addition, he/she must be trustworthy and accountable.
