Position Requirements: Knowledge and Experience



  • Degree level qualifications (minimum Bachelor Degree);

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant;

  • Demonstrated experience as a Bursar within an International School environment;

  • Knowledge and experience in establishing an International School Budget to cater for all aspects of school life;

  • Several years’ experience in managing the finances in an established International School;

  • Analytical skills, able to interpret multiple data sets to track the school finances on a term-by-term basis (with an annual overview in mind);

  • Commercially astute with a very good understanding of financial metrics, able to set budgets and able assess future outcomes;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate positively with parents, staff, students, school providers and external authorities;

  • Good ICT skills (e.g., Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint);

  • A globally minded person with the knowledge of trends for the financial management within an International School context.  


JOB DESCRIPTION



  • Oversee the financial management of the School including business planning, budgeting and forecasting, financial risk management and asset management of the School’s financial resources;

  • Ensure that financial functions are provided effectively and efficiently for all areas of Olashore International School, including:

  • Preparation of monthly accounts

  • Prepare budgets and recommend fee levels

  • Prepare capital and operating cash flow projections

  • Prepare the Annual Accounts with the Auditors

  • Management of the financial investments of the School

  • Efficient management of the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

  • Maintenance of the family/student information database

  • Management of bank relationships and oversee the management of investments and borrowings

  • Manage relationships with pension providers to ensure full compliance with requirements funding

  • Completion of regulatory financial reporting and benchmarking surveys

  • School payroll – efficient and accurate processing of payroll and maintenance of payroll systems and records;

  • Manage the preparation of financial submissions and budgets for the School to optimise funding availability and allocation in line with the School’s directions and needs;

  • Insurance – maintain an efficient and up to date insurance portfolio;

  • Reporting – ensure professional, timely and accurate reports are prepared for the School Board and management of the School to facilitate appropriate management and decision making;

  • Meet monthly with Board Chairman, if required;

  • Develop and maintain Accounting policies and procedures;

  • Keep abreast of GST, Fringe Benefits Tax and other tax rulings, including attendance at seminars and liaison with the relevant Government Bodies and the ISV regarding such issues.
