Job Description

Why we’re hiring:

• Kwik is SAAS based with all its components sitting in the Cloud (AWS, GCP, Digital Ocean …). We are looking for a “Senior DevOps Engineer” to take an active part in our daily Platform Management.


• The DevOps Engineer will focus on managing a Jenkins based CI/CD pipeline for applications and infrastructure, where the testing feedback loop is as tight as possible, and infrastructure is treated as immutable and disposable. 


• The DevOps Engineer will be working closely with Dev and Ops Contractor with the goal of ensuring that every environmental change starts with a commit to Bitbucket.


• The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping design and develop tools for a fully automated, cloud ready, highly resilient, and monitored environment.

Responsibilities

What you'll do:

• Building and maintaining microservice based application platforms


• Ensuring a smooth operation production and development environments and resolving issues, including, implementing effective monitoring and incident response strategies


• Show analytical, yet innovative mindset and the desire to challenge conventional thinking


• Collaborate closely with colleagues in creating modern web, mobile or server and cloud applications


• Show structured and methodical approach for solving complex problems


• Apply Scrum and agile practices in your daily work


• Share know-how in formal and informal settings (e.g. training courses, coaching, mentoring)

Requirements

Who you are:

• You should have a technical related Degree and/or equivalent professional qualification and sufficient practical experience, communicative and open-minded personality and be fluent in English (both written and oral).

As for technical experience, we require knowledge in the following areas:

• Strong DevOps mindset, understanding of principles and practices


• Experience in building pipelines and CI/CD workflows using tools like Jenkins,


• Experience with cloud platforms – AWS, GCP


• Solid knowledge of at least one scripting language


• Experience with infrastructure as code, containerization, virtualization, and configuration management


• Monitoring application and Platform performance


• Experience with collaboration in an international agile team


• Knowledge of modern application development languages is an advantage

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Works well with other teams in other areas – Dev/Ops/IT


• Proficient with Linux systems (CentOS, Debian)


• Works well with other teams in other areas – Dev/Ops/IT


• Experience in managing servers in Virtual Environment (AWS EC2, GCP VM)


• Remote management via SSH


• Install and configure software packages via RPM and source code


• Solid experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools (Jenkins)


• Solid experience with Amazon Web Services (e.g.: ECRs, S3, Code Build)


• Working experience with containers Docker and Kubernetes
