We are seeking a skilled and experienced Geologist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in geological exploration, resource development, and mine operations, ensuring accurate geological assessments, effective resource management, and optimal mining performance. The successful candidate will work closely with technical and operational teams to support safe, efficient, and sustainable mining activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and execute geological exploration, drilling, and resource development programmes to identify, evaluate, and expand mineral resources.
Conduct geological mapping, core logging, sampling, and interpretation of geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to support exploration and mining activities.
Develop and maintain geological models, resource estimates, and grade control systems to improve orebody understanding, resource confidence, and mining efficiency.
Manage geological databases and implement quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of geological information.
Provide geological support to mine planning and production teams, including ore delineation, grade control, and recommendations to minimise ore loss and dilution.
Coordinate drilling contractors, field personnel, and technical teams to ensure the safe, timely, and costeffective delivery of geological programmes.
Identify and manage geological and operational risks, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare technical reports, analyse exploration results, and present geological findings, project updates, and recommendations to management and relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants to support feasibility studies, project development, and continuous improvement.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior geologists and field personnel, promoting high standards of geological practice and professional development.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Geology, Applied Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline.
Proven experience in geological exploration, resource development, or mine geology within the mining industry.
Familiarity with geological database management and QA/QC procedures.
Proficiency in geological software such as Leapfrog, Micromine, acQuire, or equivalent tools.
Sound understanding of HSE standards and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
