JOB SUMMARY


Job Descrption


The Human Resource Business Partner reports to the Workforce Planning Manager and will be responsible for:


Providing an interface between rig management and the human resources department in terms of employee issues involving ex-pats or nationals. This will include but is not limited to communication, interpretation and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Produce and analyze monthly headcount reports with variations and remediation plans in the event of disparity between budget and actual, and report to Rig Manager and Workforce Planning Manager.

  •  Collate and transmit details of new hires, promotions, transfers, terminations, and dismissals into and out of the rig using Employee Change Request (ECR).

  • Ensure that all employees are paid accurately and that employees’ costs are properly assigned and terminated within payroll deadlines.

  • Monitor and track training compliance with the Training Matrix and flag monthly training deficiency with remediation plans to Rig Manager and Workforce Planning Supervisor by the first week of a new month.

  • Coordinate travel for rig personnel and third-party personnel, including meet and greet and accommodation, in conjunction with the Travels and Visa Coordinator.

  • Review overtime and under-time sheets from the rig for accuracy and obtain the Rig Manager's approval before forwarding them to payroll for action.

  • Receive all incoming expense reports from the rig, obtain the Rig Manager’s approval, and follow up with the accounts department.

  • Maintain accurate crew change schedules and provide notes on eventful crew changes to the Workforce Planning Manager within 6 hours. In addition, prepare a list of 'No-Shows" monthly to the Rig Manager with a copy to the Workforce Manager, with disciplinary action recommendations.

  • Prepare monthly ex-pat tracking report and forward it to the Tax Department, Workforce Planning Manager, and the Human Resource Manager.

  • Mentor the rig’s offshore supervisors in successfully carrying out an appraisal. This will be done during rig visits by Human Resource Representatives.

  • Liaise with Rig Manager to ensure that every rig employee receives face-to-face feedback on yearly appraisals and that the associated Individual Development Plan (IDP) is in place.

  • Once every quarter, review Individual Development Plans (IDP) for rig employees with Rig Manager to monitor and track performance.

  • Liaise with Rig Manager in ensuring succession plan is in place and all employees identified in the plan have Individual Development Plans that are monitored and tracked for progress on a quarterly basis.

  • Liaise with Corporate when a new ex-pat is hired to ensure that full documentation is in place before arriving in Nigeria.


REQUIREMENTS



  • First degree in Human Resource Management or any related discipline.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of related drilling industry experience.

  • Clear understanding of Human Resource Policies and Procedures, The Employee Handbook, and the Collective Bargaining Agreements.

  • Understanding of the concept of total labour cost including burden for ex-pats and nationals and their appropriate account coding.

  • Good IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent communication skills in written and verbal English and ability to work well with people.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer focus approach to problem-solving.
