Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Design, implement, administer and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches and controllers within an enterprise environment.
- Ensure the network is maintained to a high level of security, performance and availability .
- Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, capacity management and collaborating with relevant teams on network optimization.
- Researching and integrating new technologies into the network life cycle.
- Interfacing with relevant resolver groups to resolve incidents.
- Testing networks for weakness or potential points of compromise, staying abreast of necessary updates, both functional and security.
- Managing email and internet filters.
- Configure routing and switching equipment, hosted IP voice services and firewalls in line with IT security policy.
- Liaise with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis.
Education / Knowledge, Skills, Attributes, Experience & Other Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
- 5+ years experience designing, implementing, administering and troubleshooting network infrastructure including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches and controllers within an enterprise environment.
- CCNP Certification required.
- In depth knowledge of network protocols.
- Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for designing and planning networks.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
