- Responsible for provision of information about menu items, take customer’s orders and help them in their food selection.
- Accommodates guests and ensure that the restaurant has the right ambiance.
- Provides a good first impression about the restaurant by being positive, cheerful and approachable in order to promote the restaurant’s friendly environment and high standard services.
Functional Responsibilities
- Be the front liner of food and beverage and customer service
- Attend to customers; greet and welcome them in a positive and friendly manner upon entrance and bid them goodbye in the same way
- Answer guests/customers’ inquiries about the restaurant’s products and services
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff and other co-waiters, constantly reminding them of the customers waiting to be served and ensuring that all customers’ needs are met satisfactorily
- Adopt a positive approach in dealing with customer complaints and concerns
- Answer customer questions regarding the menu and make recommendations when necessary
- Set the table and serve the meals professionally
- Manage the flow of customers to the eating area and provide proper wait lines during busy periods
- Adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
Requirements
- SSCE qualification
- Knowledge of how to engage customers and serve them professionally
- Knowledgeable in proper setting of tables
- Creative skill in food presentation
- Adequate communication skills; ability to converse with customers effectively and make small talk to make them feel comfortable
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative in making recommendations to customers
- Be open to flexible hours and must be willing to work even on holidays
