Job Overview
Responsible for performing various routine tasks under the supervision of the Kitchen Supervisor and will ensure that the conduct of such tasks is in line with the standards and values of the company.
Functional Responsibilities
- Sanitize and prepare various ingredients and condiments
- Properly store and maintain the freshness of vegetables for salad dishes and soups
- Slice, cut, chop, grind and weigh ingredients necessary to prepare the required dishes
- Measure and weigh ingredients, such as cheese, pork, beef, chicken, seafood, etc
- Ensure that all ingredients are place in their designated containers and in the proper storage areas at the right temperature to minimize spoilage and waste of ingredients and supplies
- Read and keep track of temperature readings of the food storage areas.
- Maintain the cleanliness of any and all utensils and equipment used in the preparation and storage of food
Education
- Secondary School Leaving Certificate
Experience:
- Experience with kitchen work.
Requirement:
- Proven knowledge of local cuisine
- Keen interest in cooking and ingredients involved
- Creative skill in food preparation and presentation
- A good team player
- Ability to work under pressure or in stressful or demanding situations
- Well-organized, neat, punctual and pays attention to details
